25th June 2010 Mt. Biking: Lac du Salagou-France Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 29 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: With the last wind on Tuesday it was time to move off toward Spain,we had a wonderful day/evening in Collioure on Wednesday including moules and frites in a harbour restaurant,French Commando,s storming the castle and fireworks at night :) Then making Spain on Thursday ,not overly impressed with Spanish highrise but had a nice couple of hours watching the many kiters on a beach near Roses !!!! Then back into France stopping at Lac du Salagou right on the waters edge and watch the sunset :) Great night on the banks of the Lac !!! up early to take loads of pics of the still waters !!! back for breakfast and relax then off come the bikes for a couple of hour trip along the banks of the Lac. There was all sorts of tracks from tarmac roads to rocky/hilly paths the local mountain bikers and trails bikers use !!! Very pretty with vineyards,Lac side and mountains :) Getting very hot 29 degrees !!! so after the ride feeling hot and sticky it was time for a swim in the Lac !!! Then mid afternoon it was time to head for the Gorges Du Tarn where we hope to canoe tomorrow :) We had a top trip down passing some stunning scenery and have the same spot on the banks of the river we had on the way down.We made a fire on the little stone beach and had bread and cheese as it got dark :) |
